Sundays + Hydration

We’re not gonna give you the bullshit condescending line of “the best way to prevent a hangover is by not drinking.” You don’t need that negativity in your life. If you’re looking up how to hydrate after a hangover you already made your decision to imbibe and we’re not here to judge you. Happy Pairings exist to cradle you to a glorious return.

We bring you the three waters of hydration. Whether you went out to a warehouse party in Brooklyn and saw some crazy shit, stayed in with a bottle of wine, or went health pro by taking a five hour yoga workshop, Sunday mornings afternoons are a great time to focus on hydration.

Not everyone likes water, you know, the fluid that makes life possible? Here are some ways to jazz it up and work toward that elusive clear pee that signifies your body is lubed and ready for peak performance.

Water + Lemon

Adding lemons to water is basic, but bitch have you tried it?

The immediate benefits for anyone drinking the citrus liquid is aide with digestion and fresher breath.

Seltzer Water

An effervescent nectar with a wide range of flavors to choose from. Add extra pizzazz with squeezed lemon, lime, or muddle any other fruit. The whole fruit addition will up the nutritional value. Seltzer water bubbles are often more palatable for the nauseous tongue.

Coconut Water

Coconut water has a high nutritional value for a drink so low in calories.  It’s a great choice to replenish your body with electrolytes and is especially useful for those sick with the flu or a nasty tequila virus.

A word of caution with coconut water. Depending on which brand you choose, it can be quite high in sugar content. Look for brands that don’t pasteurize their product. Special shout out to Harmless Harvest, whose clear bottles highlight the different shades of naturally occurring coconut water. It comes in shades ranging from clear to pink.

Also, coconut water is from young green coconuts. Those hairy brown ones from the store contain coconut milk, not coconut water. If you ever visit a tropical locale and they have a guy with a machete cracking open coconuts, take advantage of the situation! Fresh coconut water is one of the most refreshing beverages on the planet.

Regardless of your Sunday Funday plans: a final weekend warrior rallying hike, a Netflix & binge sesh, or a glutinous brunch, we could all use a little hydration to make the day extra special.
